Not Your Issue

We've got to stop taking on other peoples issues. How many times have you taken on problems that don't belong to you? You feel the weight on your shoulders get heavier and heavier.

Family issues, work issues, friend issues? It's perfectly fine to lend a helping hand, however,  don't take on the issue. When I say taking on issues I mean...

1. The issue becomes your issues.

2. You start tripping because of their issue.

3. Your life becomes the issues.

You keep on, next thing you know you are entirely wrapped up and you get stuck. I"ve had to learn how to become a helper without becoming helpless. I listen without putting myself into the situation. The best thing you can do for yourself is to not get so involved, your sanity and peace should mean everything to you. Also, you can't be helpful when you are sucked in. It's ok to listen but don't take on.
